Held in the heart of Notodden in Telemark, Norway, the Notodden Blues Festival was founded in 1988 by thirteen local blues enthusiasts who took out a bank loan to bring their vision to life. From a modest first year with around 2,000 tickets sold, it has grown into one of Northern Europe’s largest blues festivals, welcoming legendary artists such as B.B. King, Bo Diddley and Buddy Guy.
